This piece began with a simple contrast: a bold black-and-white vase surrounded by soft, delicate blooms.
As the painting developed, I kept adding—more foliage, wandering stems, tiny blossoms, and trailing vines that give the arrangement a sense of movement and looseness. I wanted the flowers to feel as though they were growing freely around the structured geometry of the vase.
I believe she’s finally finished.
There’s something satisfying about reaching that moment when you realize there’s nothing more the painting is asking for. The last step is simply to add my signature.
