The past week has been a beautiful reminder of why I keep showing up.
On May 23, I had the pleasure of participating in the Art2Heart event, and it was a wonderful experience filled with meaningful conversations, new connections, and the chance to share my work with so many supportive people. Even more exciting, Art2Heart has invited us back for their anniversary celebration on August 29. More details to come, but I’m already looking forward to it.
Our open-air art gallery in Old Town Spring exceeded every hope. Friends, family, laughter, stories, art, and community came together in the best way. More than a successful event, it became a space for genuine connection—a gathering of kindred spirits.
Each opportunity to share art and meet new people strengthens my sense that I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.
I also want to thank everyone supporting me in The People’s Artist contest. Your votes, shares, comments, messages, and encouragement have carried me farther than I ever imagined. With just five days left in this round, I’m heading into it feeling hopeful and excited because of you.
Most of all, I’m grateful—for the support, opportunities, friendships, and the chance to keep creating.
I’m feeling healthy, working hard, and staying busy in the studio. The paint is flowing, and I’m excited for whatever comes next.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me 💟

So, I entered an art contest. It's kind of a big deal. Johnny Depp is hosting it and so is Mark Mothersbaugh of Devo. In fact, he is who I communicate with whenever I have a question, it's Mark, who is responding to me --so that's been a bit of a thrill. He he's very supportive I might add.

On March 13, 2022, I started this journey and made my first painting titled, Tabula Rasa. Tabula rasa is a Latin term that translates to "blank slate" in English. It refers to the philosophical idea that individuals are born without any innate knowledge or preconceived ideas, and that their experiences shape their understanding and personality. This concept suggests that the mind starts in a clean state, ready to be filled with knowledge through sensory experiences. Historically, Aristotle was one of the first to discuss this notion, emphasizing that the mind is shaped by external influences. So, at the ripe old age of 50, I started to paint.
